Circle X Ranch offers Santa Monica hiking with a view. On this trail, you can journey to Sandstone Peak, the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains. The Circle X Ranch also features a ranger station where you can ask about hiking and spending time in the backcountry.

Solstice Canyon

Solstice Canyon features several options for easy to moderate hikes. Most notably, this trail features breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, a serene waterfall and the remains of the Keller House, a stone hunting cabin built over one hundred years ago.

King Gillette Ranch

King Gillette Ranch offers a rare and unspoiled view of California’s sights from Malibu to Agoura Hills. This ranch features structures that were designed for razor mogul King C. Gillette in the 1920s. A short hike leads to a lookout point known as Inspiration Point. From here you’ll have beautiful, 360-degree views of Malibu Creek State Park and the city.

Point Mugu State Park

Point Mugu State Park is set in a quiet and secluded area of Thousand Oaks. With over 60 miles of hiking trails, it’s a great choice for hikers of any experience level. The views include gorgeous rocky bluffs, sand dunes, and two major river canyons. Visit in the late winter and spring, to see migrating whales passing on the beach.

Paramount Ranch

In 1927, Paramount Pictures purchased 2,700 acres of land to use as a movie ranch called Western Town. This historic ranch still serves as a present-day motion picture set featuring a Western motif. Paramount Ranch combines Santa Monica hiking with a trip back in time.
